They inherited the Duchy during its days as a former kingdom from their grandfather, Bill Blackrock. They became the Underqueen on August 24th, 912 AJ.

Personality
Koibi Blackrock is the longest-standing peer in Kara, a leader shaped by experience and known for their calm strength and steady presence. Conscientious and sensible, they have become a cornerstone of the Duchy of Stendahl, guiding it with a gentle but unwavering hand. Loyal to the Kingdom and devoted to their people, Koibi works tirelessly to cultivate unity, believing that true leadership is rooted in service, empathy, and the courage to stand for what is right.

Outside their office, Koibi is kind, cheerful, and mature—a steady presence who brings warmth and joy into the lives of those around them. Their easygoing nature and quiet humor shine through when not bound by duty, and they believe strongly in balancing responsibility with personal fulfillment. Always open to new ideas, they welcome diverse perspectives with patience and sincerity, growing more deeply rooted in their values with each passing year. Loyalty, in particular, has become central to their worldview, both as a political tenet and a personal bond.

Their long tenure has earned them not just respect, but reverence. They are a symbol of continuity and wisdom within the nobility. While they stand firm in their convictions, their strength is always softened by compassion—shaped by loss, matured through hardship, and guided by a deep desire to serve something greater than themself. Koibi’s legacy is one of resilience, unity, and quiet, enduring leadership.

History
Koibi moved to Kara at the age of 18 alongside two of their adoptive siblings. Settling down in the former city of Zabava, they spent much of their early days in Kara farming and building, keeping to themself. It was during this time that they were adopted by the Krumbles family and became acquainted with the Blackrock family and Stendahl, officially becoming Bill's grandchild.

They began their journey with Stendahl at 28, years after the defeat of Arimaex and the recovery of Dhara, as a Thane to The Yord's Chosen, the former head of Moder's Embrace. With this position, they became familiar with the Earthen Ethos and grew quickly into a Huscarl. This catapulted them into becoming involved, and soon ranked, into the numbers of the Iron Legion. The jump from Lieutenant to Commander came quite quickly due to their growing experience.

It was December 1st, 911 AJ that they were officially adopted by the Blackrock family and made into an Underprincess. Just over a month later, they were officially named as the "Heir to the Earthen Crown", after their mother became unfit to remain heir any longer.

They were placed in charge of the then Kingdom during the occupation alongside Corellian Towerlord, as their grandfather had to take time away, which is where much of their present-day skills as Duchess were developed. Their place as Underprincess remained through even more battles; The Siege of Nieseat, the Battle of Metinos, and Moder Yord's Invasion being the big ones. Until finally, one evening, their grandfather decided he was ready to retire, thus leading to the crowning of Underqueen Koibi Blackrock.

As Underqueen, they led their residents through several more conflicts, including the "Fall of Felanah", which brought the kingdom to Orlan. To blend better with the culture of the island, they merged with the The Kingdom of Stone Bay, becoming The Duchy of Stendahl, granting Koibi their title of "Duchess". They keep their title of Underqueen as an honorarium, thanking them for the work and dedication they had put towards Kara as a whole.

The Kingdom of Stone Bay is the nation that governs all of Kara. It was founded long ago by its semi-mythical first king, Jephdaphro, who led the earliest Baymen to war against the Drenorans. Stone Bay's victory secured its place as the hegemon of Kara, a title they hold to this day.

Currently, King Ulysses Mountbatten rules over Stone Bay.
The First King, Jephdaphro I
The people of Stone Bay were originally nomadic. Under King Jephdaphro, they valued conquest by the sea. Early Baymen travelled in fleets to conquer small city-states for their sprawling, seabound empire. Jephdaphro's reign saw Stone Bay declare war against the Drenorans for their crimes against nature. The Drenorans attempted to reach beyond mortal means by contacting the dragon Valynclex, tapping into the magic of Realitas, and accidentally creating the Curse.

These actions formed the basis of Stone Bay's casus belli against the Drenorans. During this time, the Drenorans forged many artifacts to defeat Stone Bay's forces. The Azure Blade, in particular, was one of several weapons built to slay the wizard Arimaex. The combined effort of Stone Bay's armies, fleets, and magical powers resulted in Jephdaphro leading the Bay to victory against the Drenorans. With their last-ditch attempts at godhood failing, the Drenorans faded into history, defeated and destroyed by Stone Bay. King Jephdaphro used this victory as an opportunity to settle his people. The age of sea conquest was over. Stone Bay built its Prismarine Citadel on Orlan, one of Kara's islands, and established their rule over the archipelago.

King Jephdaphro disappeared hundreds of years ago on an expedition outside of Kara. He brought with him the famed Prismarine Sword and Shield. He left Ulysses Mountbatten to rule in his stead as Regent and Lord Mayor of Stone Bay. Hundreds of years later, Jephdaphro never returned to Stone Bay. Thus, the kingdom entered its regency era.

The Regency Era, Ulysses Mountbatten
In the years following Jephdaphro's disappearance, power consolidated around Lord Mayor Ulysses. The 901st year of Jephdaphro's reign saw great change in Stone Bay. The kingdom opened its ports to the rest of Olvunter. As a result, immigration to Kara skyrocketed, with over a thousand people coming and going to the islands. Hundreds of wanderers settled in Kara, adopting Baymen traditions or synthesising them with their foreign cultures. The Kingdom of Stone Bay became a melting pot of cultures, resulting in the formation of institutions like the Church of the Deep and the Duchy of Stendahl.

This year also saw Arimaex's betrayal of Stone Bay. The former Court Mage revealed himself as a lich, and was consorting with the dark dragon Valynclex for power and control. Conflict erupted between Arimaex and Kara as a whole. The Battle of the Eternum Glades concluded this conflict, resulting in seventeen dead Karans, the neutralisation of Valynclex, and the death of Arimaex.

Arimaex's defeat did not spell the end of conflict during the regency era. Dragone Collins, a Nieseatian diplomat, was assassinated on Karan soil. This brought the ire of Macadier Maldore, archmage and Archon of Nieseat, who levied threats and intimidations towards Stone Bay. Mountbatten defused the political tension by signing a non-aggression pact with Archon Macadier. For ten years, there was peace in Stone Bay.

Peace was broken in the year 911. During the January 7th Parliament, Macadier Maldore interrupted the session by teleporting Ulysses Mountbatten, Lord Marshal Arthur Justice, and Lord Chancellor Blue Mountbatten to the Ahdredan. Leaderless, Stone Bay was occupied by the Nieseatian leadership.
Occupation by Nieseat
Nieseat's occupation of Stone Bay lasted for one month. During this time, Macadier Maldore labelled it the "Colony of Orlan", and installed the then-Nieseatian loyalist Elmes Fin as its governor. Without its key leaders, what was left of Stone Bay's government was folded into Nieseat's three powers: the Ordenza, the Halcyon Guild, and the Old Blood. Only the Church of the Deep, led by Synarch Fafnir Deepcreek, provided hidden sanctuary to Baymen loyalists.

To counteract Nieseatian influence, powerful Baymen like Benjamin Lascelles and Rowan Umber willingly entered Nieseatian institutions. Inside these organisations, they purposefully caused delays and mishaps to buy time for the Mountbattens and the Justice to return from the Ahdredan. Their plans resulted in the deaths of key Nieseatian officials, Folkmod Erendellen and Drace Latimeer, crippling Nieseat's governing capacity significantly until their revolution began. The rebellion occurred after a series of events led to the theft of the Lunar Crown. This artifact ended up in the hands of the Church of the Deep, who crowned Sillas Deepcreek as the second king of Stone Bay.
The Second King, Sillas Deepcreek
Sillas Deepcreek's accession to the Prismarine Throne was a direct act of rebellion against Nieseat. Using the magic of the Throne, King Sillas retrieved Ulysses Mountbatten, Blue Mountbatten, and Arthur Justice from the Ahedredan. Deepcreek remained king for the remainder of the war but returned executive power to Lord Mayor Ulysses. Following a declaration of war by the Lord Mayor, Stone Bay led a coalition of Karan nations against the Nieseatian invaders, kickstarting the Nieseatian War.

Following the Battle in the Battery, Stone Bay enjoyed a brief period of peace. During a session of Prismarine Court, King Sillas voluntarily abdicated on the condition that Ulysses Mountbatten would take his place. Mountbatten accepted, acceding to the Prismarine Throne as the third King of Stone Bay.
The Third King, Ulysses Mountbatten
King Ulysses' reign began in relative peace. His first act as king was to deliver various artifacts, stolen from the Fellrook, to the Behli Lothren for safekeeping away from Kara. The aforementioned peace would not last long. During a session of Parliament, the goddess Moder Jord appeared before the room. She made deliberate threats against Stendahl, specifically Bill Blackrock, before leaving. Stone Bay initially remained neutral in the conflict between Stendahl and Moder Jord, but entered the fight after the goddess' forces attacked Orlan. Stone Bay would provide military assistance to Stendahl during and after the Fall of Dhara, and its Navy was key to winning the subsequent Battle for Dhara at the end of Moder Jord's Invasion.

Only a few months later, the terrorist group known as the Cirallian Liberation Front (CLF) began their operations in Kara. They bombed several places, including Stone Bay. With assistance from Stendahl, Ibrithil, Meloria, and other Karan sovereignties, the CLF was destroyed on a mission spearheaded by the Stone Bay Navy.

The Fey Incursion heavily impacted the Kingdom of Stone Bay. Various archfey, under the influence and coercion of Granny Hildegard, attempted to take root in Kara. Captain Dalos, archfey of the Spring Court, levelled a courthouse in Stone Bay during his war games. The Fantastical Surveyor created the Mayhill underneath Steward's Cross. Lastly, and most importantly, the Lord of Rot created the Wolcott with Osten Credence's help just southeast of Stone Bay. After Hiildegard was defeated in her games, any interference from the Feywild in Stone Bay's endeavours was soundly halted.

King Ulysses also oversaw the DEW-Figh Conflict in Kara, opting to remain neutral rather than pledge Stone Bay's support to either side. When face-stealers were released due to this conflict, Mountbatten demanded that the Determiners and the Figh to resolve the matter. Stone Bay's forces assisted in defeating the face-stealers, of which included Mountbatten, who fought on the frontlines being one of the few Karans who could singlehandedly destroy a face-stealer.

Under his reign, the Kingdom of Stone Bay extended its reach beyond its city walls with the repealment of the Sovereignty Act; sovereign nations, such as Stendahl, have been vassalised; and Stone Bay's police and military have been expanded greatly, with the establishment of the Royal Guard and the Legion.

Ulysses Mountbatten is the current reigning monarch of Stone Bay, and is entering his second full year as king.
The Duchy of Stendahl is the current longest-standing peerage within The Kingdom of Stone Bay located in South Orlan. It was founded several centuries ago as The Kingdom of Stendahl, based out of its capital city of Dhara upon the gifting of The Earthen Crown to the first Underking Smaugburg Steelhide. Upon the Blackrock Clan's defeat in the Battle of Gullgacks Gorge, the Steelhide family secured their position for centuries to follow. Upon the passing of Underking Grizzlebeard Steelhide, The Earthen Crown and general leadership of the then Kingdom was passed on to the forner Underking Bill Blackrock.

Currently, Duchess Koibi Blackrock rules over Stendahl.
The First Age, The Age of Legend
The First Age marks the founding of Stendahl, when the scattered dwarven clans were unified under one kingdom and one banner. True unification came during the reign of the first Underking Smaugville Steelhide, who defeated the rival Blackrock Clan in the Battle of Gullgack’s Gorge. Outnumbered and weakened, the Steelhides held their ground in the narrow gorge, using the terrain to trap and decimate the Blackrock forces. After five grueling days, with the enemy starving and cornered, Smaugville launched a final attack that ended with the death of the leader of Clan Blackrock and the crowning of the Steelhide legacy.

Among the heroes of this age was Balin Bronzebeard, whose valor at the gorge earned him a place in legend. This era, later known also as the Age of Heroes, gave rise to figures like Tayeli and Vaenbarek the Sober, and it is from this age that many of Stendahl’s oldest clans claim their ancestry.

The Second Age, The Age of Crystal
The Second Age began with the reign of Underking Crystalbeard Steelhide, who shifted Stendahl’s focus from warfare to knowledge, invention, and magic. This era saw peace and innovation flourish, giving rise to the Crystal Order, a group of elite dwarven mages who hoarded magical secrets and rose to immense power. Their crowning project, Moder’s Heart, was a device intended to extend life through magical means.

After six generations, the Heart was completed—but its activation caused a catastrophic explosion, destroying the Order and their vast library. This event shattered dwarven faith in pure magic and marked the rise of Dwarven Machinima, a blend of magic and technology that defined the upcoming Third Age.

Unknown to most, the Crystal Order’s actions were influenced by Moder Jord, a goddess-like being once believed to be sent by Gunterra who turned from her divine purpose. She slowly drew dwarven worship away from Gunterra, twisting the Order’s work to serve her own ends. The legacy of the Second Age is one of brilliance, ambition, and hidden betrayal.

The Third Age, The Age of Machinima
The Third Age of Stendahl was marked by immense technological progress and deepening isolation. Under the reign of Underqueen Viruhna the Great, the dwarves entered their golden era of Dwarven Machinima—a fusion of magic and machinery. They created iron golems, magically enhanced forges, and complex systems far beyond traditional engineering. It was a time of industrial brilliance, even as fear of pure magic lingered.

During this period, the dwarves emerged from their mountain halls to make contact with the surface world. Diplomatic missions were launched, including one to the enigmatic Drenorans, but records of that encounter are scarce. Their most ambitious outreach ended in disaster after conflicts over magic and religion, particularly devotion to Moder Jord, sparked hostilities. Violence and betrayal, including the murder of a dwarven diplomat by elves, led Stendahl to shut its gates once more, fostering a lasting distrust of surface dwellers—especially elves.

Though brief, the Third Age left a powerful legacy. The failed surface journey stained Viruhna’s reign, but also planted the seeds of changing attitudes toward magic, ultimately ushering in the Fourth Age: The Age of Discovery.

The Fourth Age, The Age of Recovery
The Fifth Age, The Age of Expansion
The Modern Age
After its forceful move from Felanah, Stendahl resides and thrives proudly, remaining as the oldest standing peerage and only Duchy. It remains the home of the Dwarves of Kara, with the general populace of Stendahl often being referred simply as "The Dwarves". They are known to be proud and ambitious, relishing in their rich culture and deep history, and sharing it with all who will listen. The Duchy's economy runs largely off of their businesses and local Co-op, focusing on mining and agriculture to not only bring in money, but also connect to their Dwarven roots.

Stendahl's residents find their homes within the island's Mountain, in the former capital city of Dhara, protected by the statue Gate and home to the Forges of Dhara. It is home to the Order of Gunterra located right by its front gate, better known as Stone Haven.

The Duchy of Stendahl is the current longest-standing peerage within The Kingdom of Stone Bay.
Other depictions include, but are not limited to, a dwarven woman with a beard of gems and jewels or a lone mountain, while some faiths simply consider the Earth below their feet to be their beloved titan. The depiction and assumed gender of Gunterra truly falls on the shoulders of the individual worshippers.

The titan, Alaurus, is one of four worshipped titans around Olvunter. Though considered uncommon in the majority of the known world to worship titans over local gods, such a thing does exist. In Kara, Alaurus does not have an organized religion. The local followers tend to worship independently, as is fitting for their titan.

Alaurus is the Wind Titan who is believed to be the creator of the wind, weather, and the skies. Through collaboration with their fellow titans, Alaurus gave life to the elves and the winged beasts of the skies; most notably, dragons, created with the assistance of Tanignus. Eventually, Alaurus was abandoned by most of their creations, leaving only their vague whispers in the wind and their crumbling temples to be found by what remains of their followers, thus giving them the nickname "The Whisperer".

They are depicted as three strands of wind in most of their references, stemming from their smaller following. Alaurus is considered to be the most knowledgeable being in existence, which leads many of their followers to worship for the gaining of knowledge or growth. For others, they worship in hopes of good weather, growth in position, or to gain power or information. That being said, a true follower of The Whisperer is rare, as most just seek out their temples in hopes of finding ancient history, valuable artifacts, or achieving true pieces of extraordinary inspiration. It's those things that cause the remains of Alauran temples to constantly be sought out by explorers.

The titan, Gunterra, is one of four worshipped titans around Olvunter. Though considered uncommon in the majority of the known world to worship titans over local gods, such a thing does exist. In Kara, the worship and history of Gunterra is centered around The Order of Gunterra, which finds its home in The Duchy of Stendahl.

Gunterra is the Earth Titan, credited with being the first to create life. It began with the dwarves, whom they loved so much, they made even more. Haflings, Humans, and Gnomes are also considered to be of Gunterran origin, alongside Giants and many other spirits of nature. Their creations eventually became the inspiration for the creations of the other titans. Despite the mass of life they created, they eventually cast it aside to chase a life of loneliness, earning them the nickname "The Lonely One". It is also quite common to see them referred to as "The Shaper", paying homage to the life they shaped early on.

The life titan has many different depictions depending on the region and culture. For most, Gunterra is seen as a massive humanoid made of the Earth itself, sitting atop a throne of Mountains.

It is common to see followers of The Shaper amongst dwarven colonies across Olvunter, though they are not the only race to be found with ties to Gunterran worship. It is generally understood by the majority of their followers that Gunterra is worshipped for their creation of life.
The Duchy of Stendahl is the current longest-standing peerage within The Kingdom of Stone Bay.
