Summary

Robin Hood but Mobsters

Background

The Figh were not always a unified group. For their survival and protection, “The Right People of Dacia” came together under one unified organization of thieves. Their name represents all “lowlives” within the city, no matter what Figh(gang) they belong to. In the end, all of them answer to Paccahn Ordris Vhelthim. Not long ago, Ordris Vhelthim arrived in Dacia while “The Right People of Dacia” were at war with themselves. He first took over a small Figh and slowly started enforcing his rule, forcing out the weaker Paccahn, effectively becoming the ruler of the lower city. It is now under the leadership of Paccahn Ordris Vhelthim that The Figh is a single force united by “The Silent Peace” and its structure.

The Figh’s Structure and Rules

The Structure

  • Paccahn: The leader of many Figh(Gangs).
  • Vora: Leader of a Figh(Gang), answers to the Paccahn.
  • Meomari: Thieves in service to a Vora and Paccahn.
  • Tinohr: Special Meomari, whose job is to watch, listen, and signal thieves at opportunities.
  • Cheirur: A lowlife doctor who doesn't mind patching up people with questionable injuries at questionable hours for the right price. It comes from the old word for surgeon, Khierurgon.
  • Black Alchemist: An alchemist who isn't a member of the Alchemists Guild, and as such, their work is both Illegal and unbound by the Guild's restrictions.

The Rules

  • Thieves Prosper: Help fellow thieves; together, we will prosper. Don't be the military man who hires the mercenary only to expect them to die so he doesn't have to pay.
  • The Peace Above: Do not harm or steal from Guards or Nobles. The Nobles hold the Peace Above, and robbing them might break this secret peace and bring down their resources against the Right People.
  • Each Pays their Piece: Each Vora helps facilitate the thievery of their Meomari, and so each Meomari owes a fair share to their Vora, just as the Peccahn helps facilitate all thievery in Dacia. As such, one in five shares is owed to the Peccahn, and each Vora may claim a reasonable share afterward.
  • The Chain of Respect: Show respect to all others in the chain, but know well that the Peccahn is first amongst loyalty sworn, then the Vora, then your brothers and sisters of the night.

The Figh in Kara

Recently, the Figh visited Kara while on the run from DEW, having stolen an artifact they believed to be a key to a “weapon.” Three Figh members arrived before DEW, posing as typical merchants and newcomers to Kara. They integrated themselves into Kara, making friends, opening stores, and trying to gauge the Karan people’s openness to their way of thinking. A fourth member of the Figh arrived later aboard a DEW vessel, having embedded themselves with DEW to subvert their enforcer.

The members of Figh used the connections they made with the people of Kara to locate the “weapon” before DEW and get additional information and DEW movements from those same Karans. This led to a standoff between Figh and DEW, where the “face-stealer” demons were released. Then, under the threat of the Third King of Stone Bay, Ulysses I Mountbatten, Figh worked with DEW and the Kingdom to fend off the demons, eventually sending them back to their plane or killing them.

After the conflict ended, The Figh, DEW, and the Kingdom of Stone Bay signed the “Command Stone Accord,” absolving DEW and The Figh of any legal repercussions in return for their help cleaning up the threat. The Accord also ensured that DEW and The Figh would not engage in any hostile actions within Karan waters, and the three parties would remain cordial and open to business. The Figh left, having found that Kara was unique in their relationship with their nobility and trust, and they left Kara with the idea that they might return for friends and business another time.

Notable Figh Figures in Kara

Yari Praxis: Also known as “The Shepard,” Yari opened “Praxis Oddities,” a trinket and exotics shop in The City of Stonebay, to acquire funds and information in Kara. He is one of the leader types within the group of Figh that visited Kara during the war with the “face-stealers.”

Yvana Gataki: Also known as “The Gardener,” Yvana worked with Yari, sharing a home in the city. She is a changeling, using the forms of others to gain information, and she has the skills of an alchemist. She hired a group of Karans called “The Garden” that helped her collect information. The Garden also participated in the distraction that freed Tarvisa from “The Golden Future,” DEW’s ship serving as their HQ in Kara.

Edwin Street: Edwin played the everyday man but had the skills to interface with more “important” people. His job was to pinpoint the location of artifacts. He posed as a salesperson who could speak with animals to tell you what they were thinking. It was also believed that Edwin could use animals as spies, gaining information on DEW and others associated with them.

Tarvisa Ebernet: Both a member of DEW and an informant to The Figh, Tarvisa took over his family's position within DEW after his parents' death. He “worked” with Vulmar of DEW, subverting his efforts to track and find those who had stolen the “Command Stone.” He fled from the Kingdom of Stone Bay Constabulary and DEW enforcers after killing Eargus at his send-off party.
