Originally, Kamaria began as a collection of multiple groups of worshippers of [[Lunanora]], the goddess of the moon. These groups came to Kara in the year 900 AJ after the opening of the Kingdom of Stone Bay's ports, later choosing to settle together and forming Moon County.

After only a few weeks of settlement, the residents of Moon County overthrew their leader, electing [[Wy|Wy Azar]] as their Mayor. Wy Azar's husband, [[Phoenix Azar]] struck the final blow to the former leader. Later, after the expansion of Moon County and changing its name to<nowiki> Kamaria</nowiki>, [[Ulysses Mountbatten|Lord Mayor Ulysses Mountbatten]] offered to crown [[Phoenix Azar]] and [[Wy Azar]] the Lunar King and Lunar Queen of Kamaria.

During the passage of the ''Sovereignty Act'', the Lunar Kingdom of Kamaria survived and later became one of the signing parties of the [[Treaty of Orlan]]. Kamaria survived the ''Sovereignty Act'' due to its existing internal structures prior to the passage of the act. However, Kamaria had other struggles: throughout its existence, Kamaria suffered from many unsuccessful coup attempts, in part due to the difference in personality between the Azars: the Lunar King ruled through power, strength, and fear, while the Lunar Queen ruled through kindness. As such, the two were often seen as being at odds, despite ruling their kingdom together.

Lunar King Phoenix Azar attended the Battle of Orlan against [[Arimaex Glisk]] and fell in battle.

After the death of the Lunar Queen, her daughter, Aries Azar, succeeded her. However, Lunar Queen Aries Azar's reign was short. The death of the Lunar Queen Wy Azar left Kamaria unstable.

Fearing another coup and seeing the decline of the kingdom, Lunar Queen Aries Azar and a group of her trusted advisors left Kamaria and founded the Colony of Blackport, a colony of the Kingdom of Stone Bay.

The Colony of Blackport existed for a short time just prior to the [[Nieseatian War]], and existed on an island formerly within Kamaria's borders. Led by Governor [[Rowan Umber]], Blackport was mostly made up of the Kamarians who left with Lunar Queen Aries. Later, when the isle of [[Rohvencost]] grew unstable, the Colony of Blackport moved into the [[City of Stone Bay]].

Meloria was made of the remains of Kamaria not taken in the split with Blackport. Though the Melorians retained most of Kamaria's former territory, its political and internal strength was low: Lunar Queen Aries took most of her government officials with her, meaning that Meloria's leaders were ill-equipped to run a nation on their own.

Soon after Kamaria split into Blackport and Meloria, Meloria merged together with another town to create the [[Duchy of Soleil]].
