Personality

Magnus Goldensong was a powerful Baymen from the era of Jephdaphro's conquest of Kara during the Drenoran War. Believing that kindness was weakness and meekness was antithetical to the Kingdom of Stone Bay, he rejected the modern Kingdom of Stone Bay in favour of the bloodthirst of the era of the First King.

"It is with disdain that I witness the meek benefit from a system built upon power. Stone Bay, bathed in the blood of our ancestors, stands as a testament to the sacrifices that have paved the way for our existence. Yet, you have chosen the path of simplemindedness and peace." — Magnus Goldensong, 13th Moon.

History

Pre-Kara

Magnus Goldensong (also known as Count Gold) was a Baymen of the time of the First King of Stone Bay's age of conquest. The architect of the original floating Citadel, home of the Baymen, Goldensong's power within the Citadel was unparalleled. Using the Goldenrod that he created, Goldensong could move the entire Citadel across vast spaces of land as the Baymen moved from place to place.

When Jephdaphro discovered the Prismarine Throne and decided that the Baymen would remain within the Karan Isles, Goldensong remained in his Citadel home, though he was forced to give up the Goldenrod (he did not remain in the Citadel empty-handed, exchanging the Goldenrod for the Prismarine Sword, though this exchange was unknown to everyone except Jephdaphro and Goldensong). He remained with the Citadel and was mostly lost to time for several hundred years. His descendants, the Bejewelled Johnsons, remained in the Kingdom of Stone Bay until the death of Boris Bejewelled Johnson.

Return to Kara

When King Ulysses I returned from the Adredahn during the Nieseatian War with the Prismarine Shield and acceded to the Throne, he wished to reunite the Sword and Shield. Using a powerful spell scroll, he summoned the Prismarine Sword and its wielder to the Throne Room. Initially, Goldensong was intrigued to see his (few remaining, considering the hundreds of years between their last meeting) former compatriots. However, upon learning that Ulysses had acceded to the Throne upon the presumed death of Jephdaphro, Goldensong flew into a rage, stabbed King Ulysses with the Prismarine Sword, and fled. King Ulysses fell into a coma for several weeks and nearly died. In his absence, Princess-Royal Blue Mountbatten served as Princess-Regent.

After stabbing King Ulysses, Goldensong posted a public notice upon the Board, claiming that the Bay had grown soft and that he would return it to the way it was under the rule of Jephdaphro, who he posited was the "true King of Stone Bay."

Goldensong spread fear within the Kingdom, later kidnapping Hallcyon Craydark and using him to force his husband to be Goldensong's mouthpiece for his demands: namely, the Goldenrod, which would return him to his former power.

His Final Battle

On the 18th of February, the inhabitants of the Kingdom of Stone Bay marched upon Goldensong's tower in northwestern Orlan. Hixan Firwen struck down Goldensong with the Khan Blade, and Goldensong died.
