Hixan Firwen

Hixan Firwen currently serves as the Royal Detective in the Kingdom of Stone Bay, whose role is to investigate matters of interest for The Crown, and Royal Family. Hixan didn't always work for the Crown, in fact Hixan once conspired against it leading up to the start of the Nieseatian War.

Personality

Hixan is honest, above all other things. His values lie with what aligns best with the truth of a situation, and he is diligent in ensuring that he knows every detail.

When working, Hixan is precise, well spoken, and intuitive. If the situation calls for it, he can also be stern, bordering onto harsh if all else fails. It's what has given him his "scary" reputation, alongside his personal history.

Outside of work, Hixan is typically reserved and more soft-spoken, leaning towards listening rather than taking up the room. He opens up more with his family, however, becoming just animated enough to joke around—Usually by bickering with his sister, or by baiting a stern response out of his wife.

History

Nothing is known about his life before Kara, but like many, Hixan originally arrived on boat to Kara soon after the Kingdom of Stone Bay first opened its ports. There is very little known of what Hixan got up to in his early life in Kara. According to some old journals and recounts, he was a nomad who eventually got involved with a criminal group of banished knights called The Ashen Rose, and their plot against Stone Bay, and Arimaex Glisk. Supposedly Hixan assisted them in their escapades within the Living Sewers and beneath Arimaex's Tower of Bird Gander's. These actions led him down a path which involved many risky decisions and deals, eventually resulting in his disappearance after meeting The Gambler and The Khan.

Colony of the Ehrtfort

Ten years after the events of Season 1, a very different but familiar Hixan reappeared in Kara. Quickly he found a place to live, after an old acquaintance in Lyrinth told him of Nieseat, The Ehrtfort, and Macadier Maldore. Living in the colony gave him a simple life, with many people to call his friends, and work within the Ordenza, the military of Nieseat. Hixan quickly rose through the ranks, sporting high strategic and combat prowess. While he trained the in early hours of the day, the later hours were spent with the leadership of the colony, particularly The Archon Macadier Maldore, which Hixan learned many things from. Through the months, Hixan became a very trusted resident of the Colony.

Eventually, Macadier came to Hixan with a task. He handed Hixan a Soul Rending Dagger, and instructed him to kill the Hag known as Morgantha. Hixan accepted, agreeing that the Hag was too chaotic and dangerous to be allowed to live. After months of gaining Morgantha's trust, he stabbed her in the back; stealing her soul away into the blade. The same day, Hixan betrayed and murdered Ordren Stoneheart, who was carrying the Azure Blade. Sillas Deepcreek would soon find out this atrocity had taken place. The dagger was taken from Hixan, and he was sent back to the colony lucky to be alive himself. The Azure Blade too would eventually find its way back into Stone Bay's hands, after Benjamin Lascelles obtained it from Hixan.

Freedom

For an unknown reason, Hixan vanished from the colony, giving a short goodbye to The Archon before hiding elsewhere in Kara. A manhunt was headed by the Captain of the Ordenza Drace Latimeer, who vowed to slay him for dereliction, though the manhunt was halted a week or so later by order of The Archon. Hixan decided to hide away in the depths of Dhara in Stendahl, laying low for the time being before finally catching a boat off Kara, as he wished to travel and see what the rest of the world had to offer; but Hixan did not leave for long.

Stone Bay

Months later Hixan arrived by boat to Kara once more, the Nieseatian War had ended, Macadier Maldore defeated, and the Kingdom of Stone Bay had rebuilt itself quickly. For a short time, Hixan returned to the area once known as the colony, now renamed to Ibrithil, assisting them through the Cirallia Liberation Front conflict, but he did not stay for long. He found his way to Stone Bay, the place he conspired against, and had committed acts against, though perhaps not as grievous compared to the war. Regardless, Hixan attempted to restart his life there. He, among many other Nieseatians, were not blamed for the actions of The Archon, and so were given a chance to live their life as much as any other Karan. Hixan in particular was approached by none other than Ulysses Mountbatten, who offered him a job. Hixan was an experienced soldier, somebody who had certain skills and values that could be used to solve problems, enforce the law, and most importantly to Hixan, offset what he had done to the Kingdom. He accepted the offer, becoming a constable in the Stone Bay Royal Constabulary. He was given housing, albeit small and cheap, but it was housing nonetheless. He was even given clothes in the form of tailcoats and of course, his new uniform. He began immediately, working along side the then Chief Inspector Declan Domnhall.

Hixan proved to be very capable in the eyes of the SBRC, he received promotions up to the rank of Inspector, marking him as a senior member of the Constabulary. For his service, he was knighted with a red sash (now denoting Knight of Kara). The months passed, and some reforms were in order, the political landscape of Stone Bay was changing, and Hixan was selected as Chief Constable in this new system, the Constabulary became a select few people, who became the main investigatory force of Stone Bay. It was around this time that Hixan was first offered the role of Royal Detective, he'd work directly for the Crown, investigating matters of the highest sensitivity, serving his Kingdom to the highest degree someone like him could. He accepted immediately, and continued his routine, more and more criminals sentenced, the streets had never been cleaner.

After the events of Season 3, The King had decided that it was time to retrieve the Prismarine Sword, from where ever it had been lost. The preparations were made and a large group of Karans, armed to the teeth, stood in the Throne room. The sword did not appear alone, it was wielded by one Magnus Goldensong, an old Stone Bay Count from long ago. He explained how he had gotten the sword, before things took a turn for the worst. The King was attacked, and Magnus fled the scene. Hixan did not stop until justice was brought to him, who had committed High Treason. Every chance he had, Hixan attempted to kill Magnus Goldensong, in the Streets of Stone Bay where Magnus attempted to sway the people for his cause, and at the home of Hallycon Craydark who Magnus tried to murder. Eventually Hixan was successful, getting the final strike on Goldensong while wielding The Khan's Blade, securing the Prismarine Sword for the Kingdom, and ending a time of strife and paranoia. It was for his continued service, and these great acts that Hixan was knighted into The Most Noble Order of the Bay, the highest honor he could receive. (WIP)
